About Rivière Seine

We acknowledge that the Seine River region is located on lands that are part of the Métis Nation’s unceded traditional territory.

Looking for a region where life is simple, and you can live in French within a bilingual environment? Or for a community with fresh air and ample space for your children to play? The Seine River region is your perfect destination!

The Seine River region is a semi-urban area about 67 km from Winnipeg, Manitoba’s capital city.

Its francophone character¾the region is home to around 7,000 francophones¾makes it a choice destination for French-speaking immigrants looking to relocate to Manitoba.

Looking for wide-open spaces, exciting career opportunities and work-life balance? You’ve come to the right place! Consider the Seine River region! It has been recognized as a Welcoming Francophone Community by IRCC since 2018, thanks to the region’s commitment to embracing newcomers.

The Seine River region offers a choice of three municipalities to settle in: La Broquerie, Taché and Ste. Anne All three are equally charming, and all three have been designated bilingual by the Government of Manitoba.

Canada has been undergoing a deep process of reconciliation with Indigenous peoples for several years now. All of Canada is now recognized as the unceded lands of Indigenous peoples.

The Seine River region is the land of the Métis Nation. The Métis people are descendants of former fur traders who settled in what is now Manitoba. They share a common culture and traditions, as well as a distinct language spoken by those whose family roots go all the way back to the Red River settlement.
